Owen formed the firm in 2001 after being a name partner at another distinguished Boston-based law practice. Owen’s experience as a litigator is such that he is frequently requested by fellow members of the bar to serve as an arbitrator or mediator to resolve difficult disputes. He has also served as an expert witness on multiple occasions, his services being retained by insurers and counsel alike relative to issues including standard of care in litigation, proper claim handling and bad faith evaluations. By example, he was retained as an expert relative to alleged legal malpractice in the largest patent infringement case ever decided in Western Massachusetts, and was qualified as an expert by the Federal District Court of Virginia relative to his assessment of injuries in a multi-million dollar toxic tort action involving lead poisoning.
Owen also regularly provides counsel to businesses relative to litigation, insurance coverage and strategic planning.
